Job Description:
The Laundry Production Manager leads daily operations at our laundry production facility, ensuring efficient and high-quality laundry services are delivered to Intermountain Health and other customers. This role oversees plant operations, including staff supervision, workflow coordination, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. The manager is responsible for process optimization, inventory management, quality control, and enforcing safety procedures. Additionally, the Laundry Operations Manager collaborates closely with other departments to enhance service delivery, streamline operations, and focus on cost control and operational excellence.
Schedule: Full-time + ( Dayshift)
Hours of operation: 5:00am-600pm
*This is a leadership position that will require 40+ hours per week. Manager will flex their hours with in the hours of operation
Essential Functions
Operational Oversight: Manages day-to-day operations of the laundry plant to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Staff Supervision: Oversee and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation to maintain a productive and motivated team.
Process Optimization: Implement and optimize processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance service quality.
Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to healthcare standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines to maintain compliance and prevent issues.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and minimizing waste.
Quality Control: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that laundry services meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
Safety Procedures: Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect staff and equipment and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.
Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service standards.
Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining open communication with clients.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments to streamline operations, address operational challenges, and support overall plant goals and objectives.

Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of laundry plant operations, including process optimization, workflow management, and equipment maintenance.

Compliance and Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines to ensure compliance and maintain a safe work environment.

Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and other operational initiatives.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, make informed decisions, and implement improvements.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of and experience with laundry equipment, software systems, and technology used in plant operations.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with staff, management, and customers, and to clearly convey information and instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong management experience in a laundry or similar operational environment, demonstrating a solid understanding of plant operations, equipment, and industry standards.
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams, including experience in staff supervision, training, and performance management.
Proficiency in technical and computer knowledge necessary to operate laundry systems, including experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, email, and scheduling applications.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in business management, operations management, or a related field, from an accredited institution. Education is verified.
Demonstrated working knowledge and at least five years of experience in a lead capacity within a large industrial laundry, including experience with automated finishing equipment and material handling systems.
Proven experience in managing and directing a team of 50 or more employees, with strong skills in planning, organizing, and optimizing resources.
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience interacting with employees from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
