Taunton State Hospital is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Storekeeper III. Duties include supervising the receiving, storing, issuing and distribution of goods, equipment, supplies and furniture. Maintaining inventory records and other information as required in a large institution. Performing related duties as required. Please Note: The schedule is full-time, 40 hours per week, on the day shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Days off are Sunday and Saturday. Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): Supervise the unloading of trucks and assign storage location. Supervise the receiving of materials, supplies, equipment and furniture. Checks quantity and quality of materials received against purchase order specifications and maintains proper records. Supervise the maintenance of the storeroom, meat room freezer and cooler areas in compliance with the standard storage procedures and public health regulations. Responsible for the maintenance of adequate inventories and advises all interested parties of any potential shortages. Supervise the issuance and distribution of supplies, materials, equipment and furniture as per approved requisition; maintain appropriate records. Conduct duties necessary for the proper disposition of State Surplus Procurement and General Services. Perform related duties as required. Communicates with employee/clients on a as needed basis, appropriate to age, cultural or psychosocial needs, by referring or directing individuals to the proper personnel/agency. Required Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of storage methods and standards. Considerable knowledge of storeroom practices and methods. Considerable knowledge of Public Health Regulations applying to food storage and sanitization. Ability to supervise and manage storeroom. Ability to maintain records as per procedure and to perform moderately complex work. Ability to understand and implement oral and written instructions and procedures. Ability to handle bulky and heavy stock items. Ability to work harmoniously with others. Considerable experience in storekeeping. Preferred Qualifications: Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluent. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part- time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
