Job Summary and Qualifications

The Parent Education Coordinator / Coordinator of Nursing Administration supports the Labor & Delivery and Women's Services departments by coordinating parent education services and providing administrative program support. This role improves patient experience by managing class scheduling, registrations, customer communication, surveys, tours, and website updates. The coordinator also supports departmental compliance, vendor coordination, reporting, and administrative processes for Women's Services.

Parent Education and Patient Experience

1.1 Parent Education Classes: Plan, schedule, and coordinate parent education classes for St. David's Healthcare.

1.2 Coordinate instructors, classroom assignments, materials, and A/V support for all SDH sites.

1.3 Serve as the primary point of contact for families by responding to inquiries and supporting registration and scheduling.

1.4 Process payments and manage refunds according to policy with timely follow-up.

1.5 Design, distribute, and manage program survey; monitor response rates, analyze trends, and summarize results for leadership reporting and quality improvement.

1.6 Provide Labor & Delivery tours to expecting families to support education, preparation, and patient comfort.
Technology, Workflow, and Program Support

2.1 Maintain and update the Patient Education website/CMS to ensure accurate class schedules, program details, and real-time announcements.

2.2 Partner with IT to troubleshoot technical issues and improve website usability.

2.3 Use a service ticketing system (Data Center) to initiate, track, and resolve parent online registration issues.

2.4 Support workflow improvements by coordinating updates with Registration (NCCM) and Finance teams to reduce manual steps and errors.
Women's Services Administration & Compliance

3.1 Coordinate with Marketing, Finance, clinical leadership, EVS, IT, and vendors (e.g. InJoy, American Heart Association) to support communication, events, and program readiness.

3.2 Collaborate with Marketing to create, update, and distribute Parent Education materials (pamphlets, flyers, and educational resources) for patients and physician offices.

3.3 Serve as a Concur delegate by preparing and submitting expense reports and supporting reconciliation and audit resources.

3.4 Build and maintain Joint Commission perinatal binders and Women's Services booklets, ensuring documentation accuracy and privacy compliance.

3.5 Support redesignation and readiness initiatives (e.g. Texas Ten Step, Joint Commission) by organizing evidence and tracking milestones.
