Summary About the Position: This is a Project Manager, GS-0301-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Fort Worth District, Programs and Project Management Division, located in Fort Worth, TX. SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR MORE DETAILS Responsibilities Serve as Project Manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Implement corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in the development of the project and intermediate products in support of the project. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining the District's corporate commitment to the management plan. Coordinates the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, etc., for projects of substantial scope and complexity as, measured by the in diversity, geographical location, management demands, technical intricacies, and issues. Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and project turnover. Reviews and analyzes cost reports to assure charges are authorized and appropriate and identifies unauthorized charges and assures corrective actions are taken for the ultimate disposition of inappropriate charges. Reviews project progress measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost. Represents the District Commander serving as the District's primary point of contact for projects assigned with stakeholder/customer; other external organizations; and higher authorities. Responsible for keeping the stakeholder/customer fully informed of project progress, issues and their resolution, and any impact on costs. To qualify for the GS-12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing a project delivery team, ensuring alignment with standard project management practices; AND 2) creating and managing detailed program or project schedules; AND 3) managing program or project budgets and funds in accordance with organizational requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
