Summary You will serve as a CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE ANALYST in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will develop new methodologies or novel approaches to relate data elements in order to determine relationships to resolve complex problems. You will exercise inductive and deductive reasoning using established intelligence techniques to analyze data from a variety of sources. You will design and produce statistical reports of investigative and/or charts of analysis from information obtained from investigative data. You will prepare statistical and narrative reports of findings, documenting the bases for interpretations and conclusions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector which demonstrates experience with the following: Ability to process and evaluate large volumes of intelligence information from a wide range of sources, using creative methodologies for unusual problems. Knowledge of and ability to use various communicative methods available to convey information, facts and reports. Ability to lead collection and research projects using analytical and evaluative knowledge and the ability to interpret data. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
