Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Michigan State Athletics is seeking a 50/50 Raffle Operations Manager. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to gain insight into internal operations while working with the Marketing and Fan Engagement teams during Michigan State football, basketball, and hockey game days. To maintain consistency and provide an excellent fan experience, this position requires availability for all home games throughout each respective season.

Job Description:

The 50/50 Raffle Operations Manager will assist in the operations for the Michigan State Athletics 50/50 Raffle operations held at all home football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and ice hockey games. This position must understand the raffle rules and regulations and enforce them by providing guidance and instruction. The candidate selected will receive training on raffle rules, regulations, and the raffle system.

Pre-Event Responsibilities (In Office/Remote):

The 50/50 Raffle Operations Manager will prepare and set up all raffles. Responsibilities will include organizing volunteer sellers, communicating with sellers prior to game day, and preparing necessary documents to operate the raffle.

Game Day Responsibilities (at the athletic venue):

On game day, the Raffle Operations Manager will set up 50/50 selling devices, kiosks, and volunteer items prior to the seller's arrival. This role will oversee sellers during game day by providing instruction before selling, delegating sellers' locations throughout the game, and troubleshooting if issues arise. Following events, the Raffle Manager will recollect selling devices, ensuring all digital tickets are accounted for. Additional accounting procedures may be needed for specific athletic events.

Post-Game Responsibilities (In Office/Remote):

Post Raffle, the Raffle Manager will compile all necessary documentation for raffle accounting purposes and work collaboratively with the Athletic Department business office to ensure all necessary documentation is collected and organized.

Desired Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience in event management, fundraising, nonprofit organizations, or similar roles is preferred. Experience specifically with raffle operations or similar fundraising initiatives is a strong asset.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential for managing the logistics of raffle operations.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members, participants, and stakeholders.

Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulations.

Problem-solving abilities to address any issues that may arise during the raffle process.

Leadership skills to manage a team of volunteers or staff involved in the raffle operations.

Customer service skills to engage with participants and provide assistance as needed.

Bachelor's degree
