Associate Project Accountant

Position Summary

The Associate Project Accountant is assigned to a smaller construction project(s) and partners with the Project Management team to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

Position Details

Ensures accurate reporting of financial information and timely invoicing pertaining to a particular project. Maintains project-related ledger accounts.

Disseminates month-end project reports to management and relevant business lines.

Maintains list of month-end deadlines and ensure that profit and cash flow forecasts are prepared on time and accurately.

Reviews project forecasts on a regular basis and ensure any outstanding matters are dealt with on a timely basis.

Maintains project register. Prepares month-end posting/ allocations and accruals. Controls the accounts payable and receivable tasks for the project.

Identifies and assists with the resolution of basic project-related accounting issues.

Ensures policies and procedures for project accounting are adhered to.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance preferred

?1-3 years' of project accounting experience preferred

?Basic accounting knowledge

?Good organization skills with high level of attention to detail

?Good written and verbal communication skills

?Good customer service skills

?Good analytical skills

?Ability to prioritize and multi-task

?Able to analyze and resolve basic issues

?Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

?Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. required
