Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP's annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Finance Business Partner serves as the strategic financial advisor to the Sourcing & Procurement organization, shaping value creation across a $6B diverse spend portfolio. This role provides financial governance, scenario modeling, and disciplined savings validation to ensure procurement-driven outcomes are accurately reflected in the P&L and aligned with Group Finance, Business Finance, and Controllers. The ideal candidate brings strong business insight, the confidence to challenge assumptions, and an 80/20 mindset that focuses on what drives enterprise value.
This position reports to the Director, Sourcing - Professional Services & IT, with a matrix line to the Procurement Innovation Director.
Key partners include the Chief Procurement Officer, Sourcing & Procurement Team, and Business Vertical Finance teams.
Financial Governance & P&L Realization
Establish and maintain financial discipline for savings, cost avoidance, inflation mitigation, working-capital improvements, and performance benefits.
Ensure realized savings are accurately reflected in the P&L, traceable through financial processes, and compliant with financial policy.
Define and apply financial policy standards for procurement initiatives, including baseline setting, inflation treatment, FX, and volume assumptions.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial cycles, including P&L performance updates and business reviews.
Strategic Partnership & Decision Support
Serve as the primary finance interface for Sourcing & Procurement, partnering closely with Group Finance, Business Finance, and Controllers.
Act as a thought partner to category and sourcing teams, providing scenario modeling, business cases, and outcome projections that shape sourcing strategies.
Translate procurement strategies into clear financial outcomes that business leaders can operationalize.
Provide insight-driven recommendations that influence sourcing decisions, risk assessments, and value-delivery plans.
Savings Methodology & Performance Management
Develop and standardize methodologies for savings calculation, cost avoidance, inflation treatment, and working-capital benefits.
Drive alignment on assumptions, baseline methodologies, realization mechanics, and savings recognition timing across finance and procurement stakeholders.
Validate savings and performance outcomes with rigor, ensuring transparency and consistency across reporting channels.
Support the administration and governance of working-capital programs for the Procurement & Sourcing organization.
Enterprise Alignment & Leadership
Partner with senior procurement and finance leaders to ensure alignment on financial expectations, value delivery, performance outcomes, critical financial controls, and audit criteria.
Lead cross-functional discussions that clarify financial impacts, challenge assumptions, and drive consensus.
Demonstrate organizational agility and influence to accomplish goals across multiple business partners.
Contribute to a culture of financial accountability, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement within the Sourcing & Procurement organization.
Serve as the key liaison for financial compliance and audit.
The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
College degree in Accounting/Finance, advanced degree, or certification desirable
5-7 years Finance Controller experience or associated work
Accounting experience in manufacturing
Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures
Ability to accomplish goals through organizational agility
Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills
Demonstrate solid leadership potential
Ability to work with teams and ensure alignment
Ability to deal well with ambiguity
