SUMMARY
This position reports to the BU Controller and oversees the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, including financial reporting, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and facility leases. The role is accountable for data accuracy, meeting deadlines, and maintaining the integrity of the accounting system and related reports. Leads the monthly close process to ensure timely and efficient completion. Provides management with analysis of orders, revenue, and monthly spending to support achievement of financial commitments. Works independently to ensure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with organizational accounting policies, the chart of accounts, and applicable accounting principles and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties include:
Deliver accurate, timely business and financial reporting in accordance with ITW policies and GAAP.
Document and maintain effective internal controls in alignment with ITW policies.
Lead the monthly close process and complete consolidation activities.
Communicate and coordinate the flow of financial information (plans, actuals, and outlook) to key stakeholders.
Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to other corporate information requests.
Partner with the Controller and leadership team to deliver division goals, including the annual operating plan, long-range strategy, capital planning, and other ad hoc projects.
Identify, lead, and develop talent to maximize individual, team, and organizational performance against company objectives.
Apply the ITW Toolbox across the role, including work prioritization and process development.
Drive cross-functional financial analysis across operating departments by partnering with Hobart Service teams, including HR/compensation, IT (ERP enhancements and reporting), and AR/Collections.
Establish, execute, and sustain processes that enable routine analytical reviews of operating financial performance.
Collaborate with Finance, Business, and Corporate partners to drive continuous improvement and strengthen financial and operational processes.
Build and maintain capabilities needed to support ITW Toolbox initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities and performs those duties in accordance with ITW policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training employees; addressing concerns and complaints; coaching and mentoring for performance; and resolving employee-related issues. The role requires a strong commitment to motivating and developing others to build team capability and bench strength.

Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
5+ years related experience
Demonstrated experience managing a direct staff of accounting professionals
Strong understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
Ability to analyze financial data and complete financial reporting
Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
Demonstrated accountability for results and understanding of the financial impact of decisions
Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office software
Attention to detail with accuracy is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of D365 Microsoft ERP software

Physical Demands
This role primarily operates in a standard office environment, with occasional exposure to warehouse and/or manufacturing areas. The position involves prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer, and communicating with others. Occasionally, the employee may be required to stand, walk, and perform light physical activities such as reaching or bending. The ability to lift or move items up to 25 pounds may be required on an infrequent basis. Specific vision abilities include close vision for computer work.
Working Conditions
Professional office environment and occasional time spent in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in required locations including but limited to eyes, ears, foot and/or other protective devices as required.
