Job Description:
Credit analyst II role for Leveraged Finance Credit's Acquisition Financing team, which underwrites both broadly syndicated leveraged finance transactions and financings for Bank of America's private credit strategy. This job is responsible for analyzing and interpreting a client's credit worthiness and evaluating credit risks. Key responsibilities include financial modeling, credit due diligence, writing credit approval memos, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders such as risk, investment banking, and capital markets teams to achieve successful underwrites.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the underwriting, credit risk analysis, negotiation, and closing of new transactions, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
Analyzes client's financial performance by comparing it to past performance, projections, and industry standards
Evaluates transaction and relationship risk-adjusted profitability to facilitate the allocation of capital
Builds projection models based on historical performance, industry forecasts, and other due diligence findings
Conducts due diligence with clients
Required Qualifications
1+ year of experience in financial analysis and financial modeling within corporate credit, leveraged finance, capital markets, investment banking, private credit, or similar analytical environments
Hands-on experience supporting or building financial models, with the ability to explain key assumptions, outputs, and risk considerations
Experience evaluating credit risk using financial statements, projections, and transaction-level analysis
Exposure to leveraged finance and acquisition financing concepts, including cash flow analysis, leverage, and debt structures
Working knowledge of LBO modeling, including ability to do a bottoms-up build of a model, familiarity with structure, key drivers, and sensitivities
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
Prior experience with leveraged loan, acquisition financing, or private credit transactions
Experience in corporate credit, investment banking, or capital markets, and working in cross-functional teams.
