DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Staff Physician 2, you will provide medical oversight and clinical management for all patients within your assigned units. This role requires the performance of detailed physical examinations to establish accurate diagnoses and the subsequent development of individualized treatment plans. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting unit rounds to monitor patient health, evaluating acutely ill or injured individuals, and managing chronic medical conditions through the interpretation of laboratory results, imaging, and specialist consultations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining medical documentation, including progress notes that substantiate all treatments and diagnostic orders. In the absence of the psychiatrist, you will extend your scope to provide psychiatric coverage, which involves leading the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and revising care plans to include medication reviews and goal setting. Furthermore, you will serve as the primary evaluator of a patient's urgent medical needs, facilitating seamless transfers to acute care facilities when emergency or specialized clinical intervention is required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Possible evening, weekend, and holiday on-call
Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.
Special Requirement:
You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
