The Manufacturing Technician II (Compound/Fill/Finish) plays a crucial role in the production of sterile injectable products in vial and syringe configurations for clinical and commercial distribution. This position requires a high level of technical expertise in aseptic processes using single-use components. The role involves executing advanced production tasks, troubleshooting, and maintaining quality and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technician operates manufacturing processing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Responsibilities
Learn and execute manufacturing operations, including setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment used in dispensing, compounding, filling (isolators), and visual inspection.
Become a subject matter expert (SME) on compounding/filling processes and equipment.
Perform production processes with adherence to SOPs, batch records, and quality standards, while minimizing deviations to maintain product quality.
Conduct in-process and end-of-process sampling/quality checks to ensure all manufactured products meet rigorous standards.
Identify inefficiencies and escalate them to area supervision in real-time to support continuous process improvement.
Maintain accurate and detailed production documentation, completing it legibly with minimal errors and escalating recommendations for document revisions to reduce errors.
Ensure timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.
Demonstrate technical ability in general manufacturing technologies and utilize technologies per SOPs and cGMPs.
Perform in-process sampling, weight checks, component counting, and basic math calculations.
Perform in-process inspection and finished product visual inspection.
Clean rooms, tools, and equipment before and after use.
Assist with other manufacturing areas as required.
Perform activities right the first time in areas of material handling/dispensing, compounding, and filling.
Follow general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Follow all safety requirements and lead by example a safety-first culture.
Work occasional hours outside of scheduled shift based on business needs, which may include weekend work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of work experience required; 2-5 years preferred.
Prior work experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required.
Proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex manufacturing equipment.
Strong detail orientation and organizational skills required.
Strong problem-solving and basic troubleshooting ability required.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Ability to read and comprehend detailed written instructions and apply instructions during execution.
Ability to move materials throughout the facility using appropriate methods and equipment.
Ability to use the appropriate PPE based on product handling requirements (i.e. PAPR, Supplied Air Respirator, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect minute defects or discrepancies in product appearance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train and certify employees.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous experience in dispensing, compounding, aseptic filling, or visual inspection highly desirable.
Candidates with life sciences or engineering degrees will be considered without manufacturing experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, works collaboratively in a team environment.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and familiarity with general compounding equipment (pH meters, mixers, stir plates, rigid/soft vessels).
Familiarity with single-use solution pathway parts including aseptic connectors and filtration assemblies.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support operations at variable capacities.
Work Environment
This is a 100% on-site position. The work schedule is 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm. The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to strict safety and sanitation protocols.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70720.00/yr.
