Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations.
The Senior Manager will be the lead and oversee the Camera and Sensor Packaging (CSP) factory. This role directly manages and supports supervisors and team leaders across key areas of integration and test (Precision Alignment, Wirebonding, Automation, Final Assemlby, Special Fabrication, Machine Shops, Final Acceptance testing and Environmental testing). The Senior Manager will drive operational excellence with a primary focus on reducing lead times, optimizing capacity utilization, and ensuring alignment with takt time to meet production goals. This individual will also be responsible for audit preparation, emergency response point-of-contact duties, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration to meet safety, quality, and delivery objectives.
The Senior Manager will require providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management to supervisors and their teams, while fostering collaboration across functional areas such as engineering, quality, program management, and supply chain to achieve operational objectives. A key focus will also be on promoting a positive work environment that prioritizes employee engagement and development.
What You Will Do
Operational Leadership
Lead all A&T production operations, including complex electro-mechanical assembly, precision soldering, wiring, and final system integration.
Ensure all production activities meet schedule, cost, and quality targets for multiple defense programs.
Maintain strict configuration control of work instructions, test procedures, and build documentation.
Drive daily execution using Raytheon performance systems, including tiered accountability boards, factory metrics, and throughput tools.
Assembly & Test Excellence
Oversee functional and environmental testing, including vibration, thermal cycle, EMI/EMC, and electrical test.
Ensure test stations, ATE, and diagnostic equipment remain calibrated, maintained, and fully available for production.
Enforce workmanship standards including AS9100, IPC-A-610/620, J-STD-001, and Raytheon process specifications.
Quality, Compliance & Security
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and all classified hardware handling requirements.
Support internal and external audits, including DCMA, FAI, process audits, and quality system reviews.
Maintain FOD control, ESD discipline, and cleanroom/controlled-area standards throughout the factory.
Champion a zero-defect manufacturing culture.
Leadership & Workforce Development
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of assemblers, test technicians, inspectors, and production supervisors.
Implement skills matrices, cross-training plans, and certification programs to sustain factory capability.
Collaborate with HR and training teams to support hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
Foster a strong safety culture aligned with OSHA, EHS, and Raytheon risk-management protocols.
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
Lead Core initiatives to reduce waste, increase yield, and improve cycle time.
Support new product introduction (NPI) builds and transition programs into full-rate production.
Provide input to capacity models, equipment strategies, and long-term growth plans.
Provide input for program readiness reviews.
Material & Equipment Coordination
Ensure material availability for all work centers, including long-lead components and critical parts.
Oversee serialized hardware tracking, WIP management, and government property accountability.
Manage preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and capital equipment planning.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
Experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Production, Quality, Leadership, and/or Management.
Qualifications We Prefer
Background in defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
Experience with AS9100, IPC standards, and government contract requirements.
Strong understanding of Lean, Core, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Active Secret or higher security clearance.
Experience with ATE systems, environmental testing, and complex electromechanical hardware.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Experience supporting DCMA, government audits, and contract compliance.
Core certification or equivalent

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
