Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing various systems found on heavy equipment. This includes working on mechanical and computer electronic controls, transmissions, computer-controlled automatic transmissions, and pneumatic systems. You will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs to ensure optimal functionality.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, service, and repair track drive sprockets, rails, idler wheels, hand bars, track adjusters, hydraulic systems, reversers, final drives, brake bands, steering clutches, and hydrostatic transmissions.

Service, diagnose, repair, and maintain speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift, hydrostatic driven, heavy-duty multi-axle suspensions.

Tune diesel engines, service valves, fuel filters, turbochargers, and perform pressure checks on fuel filters; adjust injector heights, fuel racks, governors, etc.

Diagnose issues, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble units in cooling, drive, brake, electrical, steering, heating, air conditioning, hydraulic, and air systems.

Overhaul engines, replace engines, and rebuild components.

Essential Skills

Proven mechanic experience of 4+ years working on heavy machinery such as Excavators, Loaders, Paving Machines, Backhoes, Bulldozers, Dump Trucks, Trenchers, Compactors, Graders, Telehandlers, Backhoe Loaders, Tower Cranes, Feller Bunchers, Dragline Excavator, Wheel Tractor Scraper, Pile Driving Machines, Concrete Pumps.

Mechanical, Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic experience.

Experience with Caterpillar equipment.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repair.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience as a Shop Mechanic, Mobile Mechanic, Field Service Technician.

Knowledge of hydraulic systems and construction equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair independently.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a non-temperature-controlled environment, with initial training in the shop followed by field assignments where mechanics are billed to customers. It requires a skilled professional capable of troubleshooting and repairing independently

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Bentleyville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
