Responsible for providing integrated support under the supervision of a pharmacist to Optum clinicians and patients by managing refill requests and prior authorizations, conducting therapeutic drug conversions and supporting pharmacy wellness programs.
Hours : Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM with rotating Sundays every 4-6 weeks Pacific Time
Location : Remote

Primary Responsibilities:
Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with every internal and external customer
Works as a member of the Pharmacy Support Center by processing medication refill requests per protocol, facilitating non - protocol refill requests, obtaining prior authorizations, and resolving other medication refill related issues or problems
Documents pertinent patient information in the electronic medical record
Participates in therapeutic drug conversion programs by conducting therapeutic drug conversions per protocol, documenting drug conversions in the electronic medical record, notifying providers of drug conversions, and providing patient education regarding these changes
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
Participates in process improvement initiatives, site staff meetings and departmental meetings
Uses, protects, and discloses Optum patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
Always Adheres to Universal Precautions and safety policies and procedures
Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
Current California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
If residing outside of California, must hold an active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of residence
1+ years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
Intermediate level of proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with EPIC

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
