Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated Geographic Manager of Operations to lead a network of operations and maintenance professionals providing contracted services for public and/or private entities aligned to the New Mexico geography in the US Southwest Region.
Our Geographic Manager of Operations is responsible for (but not limited to):
Assure all Operations and Maintenance (O&M) project teams provide effective service delivery and performance in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agency permit requirements
Provide the primary client relationship with client management, support project managers in the development of client relations and strategies, and report regularly to O&M executive leadership as to client confidence, satisfaction, and/or problems
Provide mentoring, training, and leadership to assure the highest possible effort at projects on the part of project managers and operators and to develop future project managers to support succession planning and future growth in O&M services
Assure established project cost levels and O&M financial objectives are met and identify opportunities to increase profitability through cost savings, innovations, and service expansions
Coordinate with marketing personnel to assure effective communication is maintained at all client levels and provide support in growth of existing and pursuit of new contract operations to include assisting with preparing reports and presentations
Interface, where necessary, with union officials and support project managers in union and non-union performance reviews and grievance notifications
Develop technical skills to function as an onsite project manager and be prepared to perform these functions during project start up as well as during vacancies in the project manager role
Lead O&M Safety, Maintenance, Process Control, Sustainability, and Diversity and Inclusion efforts in New Mexico
Provide the selection, assignment, and onboarding of project managers and assist project managers in onsite supervisor selection and mentoring at projects
Review project monthly contract service reports, advising management as to project status, regulatory agency permit compliance, and project delivery and safety culture
Assure the implementation of all required training programs and communicate all new and updates to existing company policies to the projects
Actively participate in regional and local professional groups and report on any technology or service advancements desired or of potential interest by O&M clients
Review all monthly project manager reports and utilize these materials to more effectively manage O&M client services and to assure compliance with all contract provisions and client understanding and satisfaction of services rendered
**The location for this position is open to project site locations in the New Mexico geography where you'll be responsible for the leadership of multiple project sites. This is a hybrid position working from home and traveling to project sites in compliance with current company hybrid-work requirements, but you'll reside in the New Mexico geography. Travel requirements depend on project needs but are anticipated at 50%.

BA or BS; or ten (10) years in a leadership role in lieu of the degree
Eight years of experience at a municipal water/wastewater treatment facility, public works operation, or industrial treatment plant including experience in project management with responsibility for technical support and financial accountability
Five years of experience at a supervisory level
Demonstrated experience in providing effective safety leadership
Possess a valid driver's license with no major infractions
Proficiency with computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ideally, You'll Also Have
Master's degree in related field (i.e. Engineering, Financial, Business, Public Administration, etc.)
Ten years of experience at a municipal water/wastewater treatment facility, public works operation, or industrial treatment plant including experience in project management with responsibility for technical support and financial accountability
Knowledge of methods to reduce operating costs of a treatment plants through efficiency in energy consumption, chemical addition, staffing strategies, and solids disposal
Ability to create presentations and write proposals
Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, and strong data analysis & technical problem-solving skills
Advanced interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility across all levels of the organization
Experience in workforce management governed by a collective-bargaining agreement negotiated through a local union
Water and Wastewater operational certifications strongly desired
