Industrial Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Process or Industrial Engineer with strong experience in assembly operations to support the integration of a new hydraulic power unit into our Columbus facility. This role will focus on capturing, defining, and implementing manufacturing processes on the shop floor, ensuring the product is designed and assembled efficiently and reliably.

You will collaborate closely with design engineering, maintenance, and production teams to establish robust assembly processes, conduct time studies, develop process documentation, and support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements.

This is not a high-volume manufacturing environment; the first year will include building 14-30 units, requiring someone comfortable in a lower-volume, engineering-intensive setting.

Key Responsibilities

Capture and document the entire assembly process for the hydraulic power unit, including hydraulic systems and power applications.

Develop and implement:

Assembly instructions

Process flows

Process FMEAs

Control plans

Testing procedures

Establish all required torque values, quality checkpoints, and verification steps.

Work directly on the shop floor to implement processes into production.

Partner with Jeff's engineering team to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements.

Collaborate with maintenance and production personnel at CPC to ensure complete process capture and repeatability.

Identify manufacturing risks and opportunities for improvement.

Support the integration of a new product into the manufacturing environment-not just sustaining engineering.

Contribute to plant layout, tooling needs, and workflow optimization.

Participate in occasional travel to Canada to support process transfer and understanding.

Degree preferred but not required-strong critical thinking and relevant experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

Required:

Experience in assembly processes; hydraulics experience preferred but not required.

Experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering.

Hands-on experience performing time studies, establishing manufacturing processes, and improving workflows.

Ability to define, document, and implement new processes within a manufacturing environment.

Experience with new product introduction (NPI) or new product implementation.

Comfortable working in a low-volume, engineered-to-order environment (not mass production).

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work onsite in Columbus the majority of the time.

This is a Contract position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr.
