Summary You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (SHIPS) in the Engineering and Planning Department, Material Ordering Branch of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will be responsible for adequacy, accuracy, quality and timely execution of the ship work Job Materials List (JML). You will provide guidance, leadership and direction of personnel assigned by the branch manager. You will provide training to personnel for JML writing in office and classroom setting. You will assist with material procurement issues and problems. You will establish schedule and intermediate milestones and estimates of work to meet schedules. You will keep the Branch Manager informed of anticipated or actual schedule problems which affect Branch planning. You will maintain schedule adherence by periodic checks of progress and ensure assigned personnel understand the impact of schedule on branch and production effort. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or evaluating technical equipment specifications or requirements to provide guidance or advice on the acquisition or logistics of ship material to meet scheduled work requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
