Job Overview
The Industrial Engineer - Continuous Improvement (CI) drives measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through data-driven process standardization, optimization, and lean implementation. This role partners with the Continuous Improvement Manager to execute site priorities by advancing a lean culture, improving flow, eliminating waste, and sustaining standard work and daily management across the Fairview and Arden sites.
This position supports the deployment and advancement of TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) -TE Connectivity's flagship continuous improvement system, by collaborating cross-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, facilities and leadership to analyze processes, improve performance, and deliver sustainable results.

Job Requirements
Process Standardization, Optimization & Throughput Improvement
Support standard work across the organization
Lead value stream mapping to identify waste and improvement opportunities
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve flow and output
Support capacity analysis, labor modeling, and throughput improvements
Perform time studies, work sampling, and line balancing
Drive measurable improvements in cycle time, throughput, and labor efficiency
Optimize process layouts and material/information flow
Sustain improvements through standards, visual controls, and team engagement Daily Management & Tier System Support
Support tiered accountability with accurate, actionable data
Translate escalations into structured problem-solving actions and solutions
Track and drive timely closure of operational issues (owner, due date, impact)
Ensure alignment between production floor execution and leadership priorities 5S & Visual Workplace Implementation
Support 5S audits and recovery of low-performing areas
Implement visual controls (shadow boards, layouts, standards)
Partner with functional leaders to sustain workplace organization and discipline Continuous Improvement Execution
Facilitate Gemba, coach kaizen events and structured problem solving
Lead implementation of improvement ideas
Convert improvement ideas into practical actions and implemented solutions
Identify improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives Data Analysis & Performance Tracking
Develop and maintain reports (Excel, Power BI, Power Automate and similar tools)
Analyze KPIs such as 5S scores, throughput, FPY, scrap, and labor efficiency
Provide insights that drive action and decision-making at tiered meetings Training & Capability Building
Train teams on TEOA Novice/continuous improvement methodologies and tools
Support onboarding and certification of employees to defined standards
Coach problem-solving discipline (e.g., 5 Why, root cause analysis) Prioritizes efforts based on business priorities and CI Manager direction
What your background should look like
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
Demonstrated experience in process improvement and working knowledge of lean principles and application (e.g., value stream mapping, standard work, waste elimination, kaizen)
Experience conducting time studies, line balancing, or basic capacity analysis
Experience with lean tools (e.g., 5S, Kanban, SMED, visual management, TPM)
Strong process and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Minitab, Visio
Ability to work hands-on on the production floor and drive implementation
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Not Required but is a Plus)
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering
Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing
Exposure to Visio and ERP systems (e.g., SAP routing, BOMs)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Practical experience with TEOA / Toyota Production System
Experience implementing daily management systems (tier meetings, visual boards)
Project management experience
Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout/workplace design

COMPENSATION
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $73,300 - 91,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
