Service Dispatcher (Entry-Level)

Adecco - Richmond, VA

Adecco is currently hiring a Service Dispatcher to support one of our clients in the commercial mechanical services industry in Richmond, Virginia.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating schedules, solving problems in real time, and communicating with customers and field technicians in a fast-paced environment. The dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring technicians are efficiently scheduled and customers receive timely service.

This position begins as a 90-day temporary assignment with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Position Details

Location: Richmond, VA (In-Office)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Employment Type: Temporary (90-day evaluation period)

Pay:

$19 - $21 per hour during evaluation period

$21 - $25 per hour if converted to full-time

Overtime may be available depending on seasonal demand and emergency service volume.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch service technicians to service and emergency calls

Coordinate daily technician schedules and routes

Receive and prioritize incoming customer service requests

Communicate technician arrival times and service updates to customers

Schedule preventative maintenance appointments

Monitor technician progress and adjust schedules when needed

Maintain accurate service documentation and dispatch records

Escalate urgent service issues to supervisors when necessary

Strong organizational and scheduling skills

Professional phone etiquette

Attention to detail with documentation and scheduling

Reliable attendance and punctuality

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year of experience in customer service, dispatch, scheduling, or administrative support

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

Preferred Experience

Dispatch or scheduling experience

Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical service environments

Familiarity with routing or dispatch software

Pay Details: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour
