Description We are looking for a skilled Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in Glendale, California. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a plaintiff-focused law firm specializing in wage and hour class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation and thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting attorneys within a collaborative legal support structure.

Responsibilities:

Draft and finalize legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery for attorney review and filing.

Perform e-filing in both state and federal courts for motions and pleadings.

Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines, and organize case schedules effectively.

Format, proofread, and prepare legal documents for submission as part of legal secretary duties.

Draft initial discovery and motion documents with accuracy and attention to detail.

Provide support during trial preparation, recognizing that most cases settle before trial.

Utilize legal case management software, such as Litify, to manage workflows and case details.

Collaborate closely with attorneys and other team members to ensure seamless case progression.

Handle multiple responsibilities independently and adapt to new tasks with minimal training. Requirements - Demonstrated experience in civil litigation, preferably on the plaintiff side; wage and hour class action experience is a plus.

Proficiency in state and federal e-filing systems.

Strong skills in legal administration, including document formatting and proofreading.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience working collaboratively within a legal support team structure.

Familiarity with legal technology tools; experience with Litify or similar platforms is advantageous.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment.
