Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Brookfield, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Manage and process sales tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.

Record, review, and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

Oversee general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and adjustments.

Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and resolve discrepancies.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards.

Generate reports to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.

Strong knowledge of sales tax processes and regulations.

Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
