Construction Day Laborer

The Day Laborer provides general labor support for a variety of daily projects. This position performs physical tasks such as loading, unloading, site cleanup, moving materials, and assisting skilled workers as needed. Work assignments may vary by day depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other construction professionals, in performing their duties.

Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas as needed.

Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.

Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazardous materials.

Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Operate basic hand tools and power tools under the supervision of skilled workers.

Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions, as instructed.

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various construction systems and structures.

Perform basic tasks such as drilling, fastening, and assembling components.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

Take direction and feedback graciously, with a willingness to learn and improve skills.

Follow company policies and procedures, as well as comply with local building codes and regulations.

Requirements:

Previous experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not required.

Basic understanding of construction principles, methods, and materials.

-Must have basic construction tools.

Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects over 50lbs.

Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.

Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time position that will last 3-4 months.
