THE ROLE : The Intern - Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer ing will assist site engineers with process development, methods, labor standards, and support for productivity improvements. Knowledge of classical IE functions and Lean/Six Sigma required. Experience in manufacturing assembly preferred. The position will be located at our Uniontown, Pennsylvania manufacturing operation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Interest in manufacturing processes, process yields, process costs, and operations.
Develop and update production work instructions and standard work.
Perform time studies as needed for direct and indirect labor operations.
Assist with facility layout drawings in AutoCad.
Design/3D print assembly fixturing for process improvement.
Provide project support as needed in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Attending a local accredited University studying towards a BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent. Minimum rising junior in good academic standing.
Excellent PC skills preferred with working knowledge of MS Office and AutoCad required.
Basic knowledge and/or training in 5S, Lean/Six Sigma preferred statistical tools preferred.
Knowledge of 3D modeling (Creo) a plus.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience with manufacturing assembly or electronic assembly a plus.
Self-motivated with ability to work with little or no supervision.
Job postings will include a wide hourly pay range, with each role's pay falling within that range. The hourly salary is based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.

DAY IN THE LIFE :
In this role, the main working environment will be 30% office and 70% manufacturing plant. The manufacturing shopfloor environment is subject to loud noises, moving machinery and equipment, and climate changes. Safety protocols must be observed such as wearing reflective vests, safety shoes, safety glasses, and in some areas, hearing protection. The physical demands may include but are not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility; potential for occasional medium lifting of 20-25. Regular work schedule will be 40 hours per week.
