Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team in Lakewood, Washington. This is a long-term contract position that requires a proactive and analytical individual to handle various accounting functions, including reconciliations and journal entries, while meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a finance department.

Responsibilities:

Perform in-depth reconciliations for accounts receivable and other financial records.

Accurately enter journal entries into the accounting system to ensure proper documentation.

Generate financial reports, review them for discrepancies, and address errors promptly.

Collaborate with organizational teams to communicate findings and resolve issues.

Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring all tasks are completed within deadlines.

Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.

Identify irregularities in financial records and propose corrective actions.

Organize and file reports systematically for future reference and compliance.

Requirements

Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of general ledger management and account reconciliation.

Proficiency in entering journal entries accurately and efficiently.

Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to identify discrepancies.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external teams.

Previous experience working within a finance department or similar environment.
