You will serve as an ELECTRONICS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the WEAPONS REPAIR DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Duties
Help
Apply knowledge of a wide range of advanced electronics theory principles and practices on the various ships and submarines worked on by the WRD Production Shop(s).
You will maintain complex integrated systems that have frequent engineering changes such as design, construction, operating and servicing procedures.
You will research plans, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, factory specifications, and other publications to assure that equipment meets operational specifications.
You will perform system/subsystem corrective and preventive maintenance as specified by the equipment manufacturer, technical instructions, and maintenance requirement procedures.
You will evaluate maintenance and diagnostic results and recommend appropriate corrective/preventive maintenance action required.
You will use hand and power tools to disassemble equipment, as necessary, to inspect, repair, or replace components.
You will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair greater complex Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Mast and Antenna Sail Systems.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
May be required to work on submarines at sea for short periods of time in confined spaces.
You will be required to lift or carry loads up to 40 pounds in weight and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
You will be required to work outside, heights that require fall protection, below decks, confined spaces onboard submarines, and in dry dock as necessary during refits.
You will need to be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
May be required to be CPR and AED certified.
This position may be required to qualify as a nuclear weapons radiation worker.
This position may be required to become a Conventional Weapons Handling Supervisor (CWHS) for handling explosives such as the AN/BST-1 System.

This positon maybe designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) position in specialty area 41 (Customer Service and Technical Support) and as a condition of employment incumbents of the designated position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:
Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned.
Participate in the continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2 A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by the first line and second line supervisor.
