POSITION SUMMARY
Kelly® is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Operations Manager for a direct hire role in Johnstown, CO. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this position oversees all warehouse and operational functions for a large facility-including logistics, inventory management, safety, and personnel leadership. You will manage a diverse team of Supervisors, Material Handlers, Drivers, and Office Staff, driving operational excellence, compliance, and workplace safety in accordance with company policies. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused position with at least 80% management responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive measurement and effectiveness of all key warehouse processes covering inventory, logistics, transportation, customer service, and staffing.
Prepare and present timely, accurate reports on warehouse operations and performance as required.
Communicate effectively with the Regional Manager, peers, and cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
Keep warehouse facilities-including equipment, vehicles, and grounds-clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
Foster productive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and transportation providers.
Lead staffing activities including scheduling, development, goal setting, regular meetings, feedback, and coaching.
Ensure the warehouse is effectively staffed for daily workloads and seasonal peaks.
Oversee personnel development; conduct new hire reviews (30/60/90 day), set growth plans, and carry out performance reviews.
Collaborate with HR for recruiting, onboarding, and managing personnel matters.
Proactively manage workplace safety programs-conduct scheduled safety meetings, investigate incidents, and ensure ongoing compliance.
Oversee loss prevention and maintain building and asset security.
Partner with Sales to meet and anticipate customer needs.
Support strategic priorities including process improvement initiatives, project management, and special projects (e.g., acquisitions, warehouse relocations).
Plan and manage operational and capital budgets for the facility.
Recommend efficient warehouse layouts and guide continuous improvement in product flow.
Train, motivate, and inspire your team to reach productivity targets and operational excellence.
Oversee planned maintenance and repair of all facility equipment and vehicles.
Model and promote a positive company image within the operation and to external partners.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting (up to 80 lbs).
Handling and team-lifting of heavy products (e.g., tires).
Must use protective equipment (steel/composite boots, vest, harness, etc.-provided by company except boots).
Possible exposure to moderate noise, weather, tire/car part fumes.
Must possess strong vision, hearing, and safety awareness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business plus 2 years of warehouse/operations experience, OR 6 years warehousing/operations experience.
Demonstrated leadership credentials in a warehouse or operational setting.
Proven knowledge of material handling, inventory control, budgeting, and logistics.
Excellent math, accounting, and financial reporting ability.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills for all organizational levels.
Strong ability to develop teams, build supplier partnerships, and maintain positive customer relations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
Innovative problem-solving and process improvement abilities.
Willingness to travel nationally as required.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
