Office of Workers' Compensation
The Louisiana Works is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the Office of Workers' Compensation. The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.
The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) provides OSHA consultation services to high-risk industries and maintains comprehensive records and reporting systems, including electronic injury report submissions. OWCA also conducts financial audits and monitors compliance among self-insured employers and insurance carriers. OWCA does not process individual workers' compensation claims, issue benefit payments, or assist injured workers with claims management.
The Administrative Coordinator supports the Finance and Audit Unit by independently managing the receipt, reconciliation, and deposit of funds from all OWCA divisions, including ten district courts, Records Management, and the Fraud Unit. The position also ensures the accurate entry and validation of workers' compensation benefit data submitted by insurers, which directly impacts the calculation of annual OWCA assessments.
This role requires strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and accountability in handling sensitive financial transactions, identifying discrepancies, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with state fiscal requirements.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Details:
-Independently receive, sort, and log incoming checks by department, unit, district, program, and, when applicable, by employee.
-Ensure proper checks and balances by confirming that all payments received are accurately scanned and recorded in tracking systems.
-Collect and enter any paper Annual Reports of Workers' Compensation Costs (WC Form 1000) from insurers and self-insured employers.
-Serve as the primary contact for inquiries about received and deposited funds, including certified mail from auditors.
-Manage the daily deposit process, including scanning checks using the ITMS (Chase Bank) system.
