Payroll Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Sacramento, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in payroll processing and accounting, particularly within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will excel in multi-state payroll operations, tax reporting, and certified payroll compliance.

Responsibilities:

Process full-cycle payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Utilize ADP Workforce Now to manage payroll operations and maintain up-to-date employee records.

Handle payroll tax reporting and compliance, including federal, state, and local requirements.

Manage certified payroll processes and ensure adherence to prevailing wage regulations.

Collaborate with HR teams to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Perform payroll accounting tasks specific to the construction industry, including job costing and wage allocations.

Support the parent company in entering payroll data and maintaining accurate records.

Prepare detailed reports and summaries related to payroll activities for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies in all payroll operations.

Participate in audits and reviews to maintain payroll accuracy and integrity. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and accounting, preferably within the construction industry.

Proficient in handling full-cycle payroll processes and operations.

Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and its functionalities.

Experience with multi-state payroll management and compliance.

Familiarity with payroll tax reporting and certified payroll requirements.

Understanding of prevailing wage regulations and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex payroll tasks.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with HR and other departments.
