We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in corporate accounting and contribute to the organization's financial success.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Manage sales tax filings and related documentation with accuracy and timeliness.

Record journal entries and reconcile accounts to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Oversee general ledger activities, including account analysis and periodic adjustments.

Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights on financial reports and tax strategies.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.

Assist in audits by compiling necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency.

Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, applying updates to relevant processes.

Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax reporting.

Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

Familiarity with financial reporting and tax compliance standards.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
