Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are looking for a motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Madison Heights, Michigan. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth and development within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices and manage disbursement filing to maintain accurate accounts payable records.

Oversee employee credit card transactions and ensure proper expense reporting.

Reconcile daily bank accounts and prepare cash position reports.

Classify and code expenditures accurately, applying knowledge of accounting principles and ensuring compliance.

Handle international inter-company transactions and reconcile related balances.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and ledger updates.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

Support ad hoc financial projects and reporting tasks as needed.

Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Financial Controller. Requirements - Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting practices.

Proficiency in Office Suite applications, particularly Excel.

Familiarity with accounting software such as Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision.

Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Strong organizational and analytical skills to ensure attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to adapt to new tasks and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
