About this Job
This is a part-time position located at the New Orleans Jazz Museum in New Orleans, LA.
This position is responsible for administrative and operational support for the Office of the Director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum and generally providing support for the Director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
The Louisiana State Museum's collections and educational programs stimulate awareness and appreciation of our state's rich and diverse history and culture.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Serves as liaison with vendors and group coordinators by assisting with coordination of building usage for public and private functions at the NO Jazz Museum. Schedules and conducts tours with prospective clients. Assists with building rentals by outside groups and individuals for receptions, wedding ceremonies, programs, parties, concerts, festivals, exhibit openings, etc. Coordinates with event planning companies, rental companies, caterers, etc., to ensure success of after-hours tours.
Maintains calendar of appointments and events, and schedules appointments and meetings as required.
Works closely with museum support groups to ensure event guidelines are followed. Assists Audio Visual Production Manager when necessary.
Attends event meetings and relays any special needs or instructions regarding after hour events to appropriate staff.
Assists with submission of event information forms detailing events to the appropriate staff.
Assists the Director and Administrative Assistant 5 in the coordination of group tours for the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
Assists the Marketing Department in providing information regarding special events. Assists with media access when appropriate.
Handles special projects as assigned.
Handles details of assignments independently to conclusion with little supervision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12-month period. Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.
Work Schedule:This is a part-time position that reports in-office. This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This position may be required to travel.
