Responsibilities As a ATTORNEY ADVISOR (GENERAL) at the NH-0905-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Responsible for Legal issues related to Intelligence oversight and operations law as it relates to the use of IT. Assists the Chief, Civil and Fiscal Law, in carrying out responsibilities pertaining to civil law. Primary advisor on land transportation issues. Manages the command ethics program and serves as a primary ethics counselor on standards of conduct issues. Assists in developing office procedures to conduct the work of the office, including matters related to office funds, office resources, office personnel, and office work products. Exercises full authority and responsibility as the principle source for Information Law advice, advocacy and litigation support to enable the command to implement statutory duties as single manager for DOD common user transportation, as the Distribution Process Owner (DPO), and other delegations of authority and responsibility from DOD, JCS, or Congress. Provides potentially precedent-setting legal advice on extremely difficult and complex legal issues in the areas of USTRANSCOM's management and use of information technology (IT); electronic commerce policies; electronic ethical requirements; domestic and international electronic business (E-BIZ); intellectual property (including government and commercial software licenses, trademarks, copyrights, and other internet intangibles), information and security; information confidentiality to include FOIA, Electronic FOIA, HIPAA, Privacy Act, and electronic discovery programs; reengineered travel with automated processes; management/improvement of information resource management; and problems associated with use of the World Wide Web and the government's use of social networking sites (e.g., face book, twitter, YouTube, etc.).
