Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oakland, California. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy and compliance while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Deliver timely, precise accounting support for daily finance operations while maintaining GAAP-compliant records and strong internal controls.

Assist the Controller with monthly reconciliations and maintain detailed schedules as needed.

Produce ad-hoc financial analyses and contribute to special projects, including materials for financial reporting and the annual budgeting cycle.

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve overall accounting efficiency.

Manage the complete accounts payable process, ensuring invoices meet approval requirements and include proper documentation.

Accurately code and enter approved invoices, maintain vendor records, and handle credit card and bank reconciliations.

Perform timely reconciliations of revenue and accounts receivable.

Prepare invoices, record incoming payments, and update the general ledger accordingly.

Oversee inventory accounting and reconcile warehouse and e-commerce activity with the general ledger.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related preferred.

2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with some exposure to general ledger accounting.

Skilled in Excel or Google Sheets and experience with an ERP system.

Demonstrates strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
