Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations while collaborating with a dynamic team. The role focuses on managing accounts receivable activities, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with established processes.

Responsibilities:

Reconcile unapplied payments and credits associated with open invoices and deductions.

Collaborate with team members to address deductions, cash applications, billing issues, collections, and short payments.

Ensure all files and documentation are maintained thoroughly and accurately according to company policies and accounting standards.

Monitor customer portals to identify and resolve issues related to open invoices, payments, and deductions.

Assist with maintaining company store logs and prepare month-end reporting.

Support billing operations by entering invoices and tracking cash activity.

Work on payback requests, returns, and other accounts receivable tasks as needed.

Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to address discrepancies and ensure timely resolutions. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, including cash applications and collections.

Proficiency in handling billing functions and general ledger activities.

Ability to reconcile payments and credits accurately.

Knowledge of customer portals for managing open invoices and deductions.

Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed and compliant documentation.

Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.

Familiarity with month-end reporting and financial reconciliation.

Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
