Preconstruction Design Phase Engineer I and II - Solar

Mortenson is currently seeking an experiencedDesign Phase Engineer I andIIto join our Solar group to translate owner's project expectations into design drawings, specifications, and schedules, and provide financial cost documentation.Strong communicationskills are necessary as you will coordinate with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability toremainflexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient witha high levelof integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success in this role. Location: MN- HQ (hybrid) Travel: up to 10% This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location. RESPONSIBILITIES Support the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, construction readiness, and excellent financial performance Assistwithestablishingand managing project budget and scope expectations, budget trending logs, and any associated communications and resources Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, hold team members accountable for reaching set milestones Assistin regulatory approval andpermittingprocess Identifytechnical design and specification concerns, escalate as needed to achieve resolution Provide meaningful recommendations to project's programming and conceptual design activities, ensuring constructability andlogisticssolutions in project design Assistwith project proposal development Prepare bid packages and contract manuals for subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with project planning team Analyze and track LEED requirements Coordinate document and electronic interface processing Model and set the tone for extraordinary customer relations Gathering feedback and clarification during design process, andidentifyfuture projects Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Manager, Estimating, or equivalent field Construction, solar or renewable energy experience preferred Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks Possess basic understanding of construction law andgenerally acceptedbusiness practices Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to employees and outside parties Open to change based on diverse input and feedback Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and inclusive behaviors Consistent record of including diverse members when assigning challenging and high-profile tasks Design Phase Engineer I MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two year's relevant experience The base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500 Design Phase Engineer II MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum four years relevant experience The base pay range for this role is $93,400 - 126,100 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
