Job Title: Construction General Laborer Job Description

We are seeking three Construction General Laborers for single-family detached residential lots in the areas of Front Royal and Winchester, VA. Construction Laborers play a crucial role in supporting full site development operations by assisting equipment operators, pipe crews, and grading teams with daily tasks that keep the project moving. This role involves physical labor, material handling, trench work, and general site support across excavation, utilities, and grading activities.

Responsibilities

Assist with underground utility installation, including staging pipe, fittings, and materials.

Support pipe layers by helping with trench preparation, backfilling, and compaction.

Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment around the job site.

Perform site cleanup, debris removal, and maintain safe work areas.

Help operators with spotting, fueling, greasing, and equipment maintenance tasks.

Set up and take down temporary structures, barricades, and safety fencing.

Use hand tools, power tools, shovels, rakes, and compactors as needed.

Assist with grading, stone placement, and general earthwork support.

Follow all safety procedures, including trench safety, PPE, and hazard awareness.

Work closely with foremen, operators, and pipe crews to maintain production flow.

Essential Skills

General labor and construction experience.

Experience with trench digging and manual labor.

Site cleanup and moving materials.

Proficiency in using shovels, skid steers, and other equipment.

Ability to work around heavy equipment and active excavation areas.

Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and construction practices.

Ability to follow directions from supervisors and work as part of a crew.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous construction or site development experience preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Purcellville, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
