Airfield Construction Manager

As an Airfield Construction Manager, you would lead construction activities across active airfield environments, ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Oversight & Field Management

Manage day to day airfield construction activities including runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, and related infrastructure. Ensure construction complies with FAA design standards and project specifications. Monitor contractor performance, quality, and adherence to safety requirements within an active airfield environment. Identify and resolve field issues, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and airport authorities.

Project Controls & Delivery

Oversee construction schedules, budgets, and progress reporting in alignment with Jacobs' project management practices. Support change management, risk mitigation, and progress documentation. Ensure all work is delivered within established budgets and timelines.

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with airport staff, FAA representatives, contractors, and multidisciplinary Jacobs teams. Support communication across design, engineering, and construction groups to maintain alignment and project momentum. Provide best in class client service, reinforcing Jacobs' commitment to high quality outcomes.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with airfield safety protocols, permitting requirements, and FAA AIP program standards when applicable. Contribute to construction documentation, inspection reports, and as built records. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 6-10+ years of progressive experience in airfield design or construction, including large scale or FAA funded aviation projects. Strong understanding of FAA airfield design guidelines and construction practices. Experience delivering complex projects in active airfield environments. Proven leadership in construction oversight, project scheduling, and contractor coordination.

Ideally, you'll also have:

Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with FAA AIP program requirements. Prior experience working with public agencies or airport authorities. Familiarity with multidiscipline engineering teams and major aviation programs.
