SR MANAGER SUPPLY CHAIN (OPERATIONAL READINESS LEAD)
What you will do

In this role, you will report to the Director, Supply Chain at ANC (Amgen North Carolina), and will serve as the primary Supply Chain Business Lead for the ANC2 expansion. This is a highly visible leadership role supporting design, build, and startup of our newest facility.
This role is accountable for end-to-end Supply Chain operational readiness across Planning, Procurement, Materials Management, and Warehouse Operations to ensure successful facility startup and long-term operational excellence.
This Sr Manager will manage Supply Chain/Warehouse startup change control records, training, documentation, risk assessments, inspection readiness and manufacturing support. The role will also represent Supply Chain in governance forums, capital project meetings, and design reviews to ensure that supply chain systems, material flows, storage strategies, and digital capabilities are embedded into the facility from design through Go-Live. As the startup is complete, this role will transition into ongoing supply chain operational leadership responsibilities within the organization.
Serve as the Supply Chain point of contact for ANC2 facility design, build, and startup
Develop and own the integrated Supply Chain startup schedule aligned to overall project milestones
Ensure readiness of warehouse and material flow design, planning systems and ERP (SAP/WM/EWM), master data creation, procurement enablement, and inventory strategy
Identify and mitigate risks impacting supply chain startup timeline
Lead cross-functional readiness tracking and milestone reporting
Represent Supply Chain in design reviews, steering committees, and governance meetings
Provide subject matter expertise on warehouse layout, storage strategy, logistics configuration, and inventory systems
Develop warehouse capacity models aligned to DS production ramp
Partner with Engineering, Facilities, Technology, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure scalable processes
Partner with Supply chain procurement team to establish supply strategies for startup and PPQ readiness
Support development of DS production planning and capacity assumptions
Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, EHS, and regulatory requirements
Own or support change controls, deviations, CAPAs, SOPs, and risk assessments
Develop Supply Chain business continuity and risk management plans
Represent Supply Chain during audits and inspections
Present readiness status, risks, and mitigation plans to Site leadership
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Amgen standard tools and methods
Assess impact of new requirements, changes, processes, regulations to the department
Act as Supply Chain / Warehouse representative in ANC2 cross-functional projects
Develop solutions to Supply Chain and cross-functional business problems through in-depth analysis, coordination, and negotiation with key decision makers.
Manage issues to resolution or escalation, when required
Contribute to strategic decisions affecting ANC2 Supply Chain operations
Build cross-functional relationships to develop and garner support for shared programs
Influence a broad spectrum of partners toward achieving business goals

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of GMP Operations and/or Supply Chain / Warehouse experience OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of GMP Operations and/or Supply Chain / Warehouse experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of GMP Operations and/or Supply Chain / Warehouse experience OR
Master's degree and 6 years of GMP Operations and/or Supply Chain / Warehouse experience OR
Doctorate degree and 2 years of GMP Operations and/or Supply Chain / Warehouse experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing resource allocation.
Experience supporting new facility startup, capital expansion, or operational readiness
Expertise in regulated GMP pharmaceutical supply chain operations
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, materials planning, and procurement
Supply Chain & Logistics Management, Material Management and/or engineering educational background
Experience with SAP, WM/EWM, and production planning tools
Demonstrated ability to build and manage integrated project plans
Experience representing Supply Chain during regulatory inspections
Strong business and financial acumen
Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience in regulated industry
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience with Change Control Management System
Experience working in a global environment, ability to collaborate closely/communicate effectively at different management levels.
Ability to manage complexity and manage multiple priorities, and influence without authority

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
