Job Title: 1st Shift Production Assembler Job Description

As a 1st Shift Production Assembler, you will play a crucial role in assembling electrical and mechanical parts into finished products. This position requires the use of various tools and assembly process equipment. You will be cross-trained in areas such as mechanical, electronic, testing, microscope, soldering, and finishing, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the department's functions.

Responsibilities

Assemble electrical and mechanical parts into finished products using a variety of tools.

Perform electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment.

Conduct quality control inspections to ensure product standards.

Use computer workstations for record-keeping and testing purposes.

Engage in hand soldering and use of adhesives and chemicals as required.

Lift up to 40 pounds consistently during assembly tasks.

Essential Skills

1+ year experience with small screwdrivers, torque wrenches, wiring, and soldering.

Proficiency in reading work instructions and blueprints.

Experience with soldering and/or microscope work is highly advantageous.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Education: High school diploma preferred.

IPC J-STD certification is highly preferred.

Experience with PCB or small part assembly is necessary.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a 1st shift schedule from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Assemblers will work in a large production area with various lines supporting gas and flame detection sensors. Safety equipment such as smocks and safety glasses are provided, although safety toe shoes are not. The environment may have a strong epoxy smell in certain areas. Candidates will be cross-trained and placed in departments that suit their skills and preferences.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
