PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Manager, FP&A Consumer Banking & Executive Decisioning Support at our Tysons, Virginia location. The Senior Manager, FP&A Consumer Banking & Executive Decisioning Support plays a key role in PenFed's Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team providing strategic financial leadership and decision support to the Consumer Banking business and PenFed executive team. This role requires a strategic consulting mindset and the ability to lead complex analyses, develop and evaluate business cases, and guide high-impact initiatives across the Consumer Banking Segment. The Senior Manager partners closely with business leaders to own the outcomes of core FP&A processes, including forecasting, budgeting, expense management, and long-range planning. Operating as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, the Senior Manager translates strategy into financial outcomes, ensures analytical rigor across planning activities, and enhances the quality, clarity, and impact of financial insights delivered to executives.

Lead the Consumer Banking components of the annual Financial Plan and rolling forecasts by establishing, reviewing, and challenging key assumptions to ensure forecasts and key performance indicators are credible, well-supported, and useful in decision-making.
Serve as a strategic partner to Consumer Banking leaders to ensure alignment between Consumer Banking plans and enterprise financial objectives.
Anticipate risks and opportunities, proactively communicating implications and recommending actions to Finance and business leadership.
Lead development and review of business cases, including financial models, ROI/NPV analyses, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
Build, review, and enhance financial materials prepared for executive and board audiences, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strategic framing.
Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting efficiency; and lead enhancements to forecasting methodologies, modeling standards, and performance reporting.
Champion the use of technologies that improve insight delivery and reduce production times.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical review for FP&A analysts to improve analytical and storytelling skills and build business acumen.
Contribute to PenFed's culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines to gather data, communicate insights, and share knowledge.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or Engineering required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA) preferred.
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in consulting, FP&A, financial services, or banking, including demonstrated leadership within complex financial planning environments.
Minimum 2 years of direct management experience.
Expert-level financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to design scalable, well-structured models that support strategic decision-making and withstand executive scrutiny.
Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, executive-level insights.
Strong business partnering skills with demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders and shaping strategic and investment decisions.
Experience reviewing, evaluating, and enhancing work produced by other finance professionals, setting standards for analytical rigor, clarity, and consistency.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop executive-ready materials efficiently.
Experience with key FP&A systems such as OneStream or Hyperion is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with industry data sources such as Callahan & Associates and S&P Capital IQ preferred, with the ability to integrate external market insights into financial recommendations.
Deep understanding of bank financial statements, key performance ratios, and capital and profitability metrics, with the ability to apply NPV/ROI and risk-adjusted return methodologies to evaluate strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
Experience in retail banking or the credit union industry preferred, with understanding of consumer banking business models and performance drivers.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills, with ability to engage across all levels of management.
Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to craft clear, compelling financial narratives supported by effective data visualization.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and sound business judgment, with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
Ability to lead with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence in driving outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and credibility rather than formal authority.
