3rd Shift General Production Operator

Job Description

A manufacturing company specializing in packaging supplies is seeking a dedicated General Helper. This role involves loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials while operating manufacturing equipment. The position requires working from Monday to Friday, with additional hours on Saturdays during peak demand periods such as the holiday season. The 3rd shift runs from 9:30 pm to 6 am. Overtime is mandatory when requested for Saturdays, although it is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Sort and place materials or items on rolling conveyor belts according to predetermined sequences such as size, @type, style, color, or product code.

Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.

Count items to ensure they conform to company standards.

Mark materials with identifying information.

Open bales, crates, or other containers when needed.

Record the amount of materials or items received or distributed.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Comfortable moving materials onto conveyor belts that run through manufacturing equipment.

Ability to write short correspondence.

Ability to read a tape measure.

Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preferred: High School diploma.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large production facility characterized by a very loud industrial environment. Employees must be comfortable wearing steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs. The role requires repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting to move heavy materials throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buena Park, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.77 - $20.77/hr.
