Job Description

A mid-size legal client of Insight Global is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their Family Law Practice Group. This role involves direct interaction with clients, courts, and other external entities, including answering family law consultation calls and managing incoming communications. Responsibilities include preparing, organizing, and maintaining client files; scheduling appointments; and managing attorney and litigation calendars. The position requires filing pleadings; drafting correspondence; preparing and assisting with discovery documents, demands, and responses; and obtaining documents and expert discovery materials. Additional duties include coordinating and booking depositions, preparing monthly expense reports, and supporting a fast-paced, high-volume practice group. The role also entails organizing client files, pleadings, exhibits, binders, and discovery materials to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Skills and Requirements

High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years' of litigation required; Minimum of 5 years' of litigation and family law experience preferred.

Knowledge of e-filing systems across multiple jurisdictions (DC/MD/VA) required.

Ability to proofread required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.

Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment.
