We are seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Retail Manager to support Hyatt's Lifestyle Independent Collection Brands. Based in our Austin Creative Hub, you'll collaborate closely with Design, Brand, F&B, and property teams to create compelling, cohesive retail experiences that elevate the guest journey while achieving strong financial results.

The Role
Reporting to the RVP Brand & Marketing, the Retail Production Manager is
responsible for development of new retail items from concept to production via interaction with internal and external partners. Retail items will include apparel, accessories and home goods.

The Role
The Retail Manager oversees the full retail program for Bunkhouse-owned and managed properties, including merchandise, minibar, bodega, and e-commerce operations. This role is responsible for leading product development, vendor management, inventory oversight, pricing strategy, and retail execution to ensure cohesive, brand-aligned offerings that drive profitability and enhance the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage the production calendar in collaboration with the internal design team, RVP of Brand, and external partners to ensure timely product development and delivery.
Partner with the Design and Art Departments to develop new merchandise, including brand- led projects (e.g., custom property sweatshirts), and ensure property requests are considered.
Source and develop new product ideas that align with brand identity; manage vendor relationships, factory allocation, and rebid processes as needed.
Oversee product costing, including margin analysis, markups, and retail pricing to maintain profitability.
Coordinate order placement, production tracking, sample approvals, and on-time delivery in collaboration with creative leads, shipping partners, and warehouse managers.
Handle all aspects of retail buy processing for properties, from PO creation to final delivery and invoicing; communicate production timelines to ensure properties can budget accordingly.
Maintain and analyze inventory across locations; reorder products based on set pars and monthly reviews.
Develop and execute retail plans (e.g., holiday, pride merch) and a social/PR content in alignment with brand goals.
Provide customer service support, including issue resolution and return management.
Monitor all controllable costs, forecast sales based on analytics, and report monthly/quarterly goals to ensure annual retail sales targets are met.
Source vendors, develop new products, refresh current product, act as a liaison between the hotels and retail vendors, ensuring offerings are cohesive, represent the property brand and vision.
Assist F&B Director with curation and implementation of minibar bodega selections, pricing, placement and operations where applicable
Style merchandise and retail displays, including new store design and build outs, fixtures and signage
Manage E-Commerce and oversee quality control of online stores (i.e. ensure quality product photography, develop Bunkhouse appropriate product copy, maximize potential of online retail sites)
Oversee standardized in-store packaging program, sourcing and developing
Leadmonthly retail meetings with General Manager and on property retail representatives
Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, cost improvement objectives, action plans, and strategies
Attend local and national trade shows and markets to scout new items
Ensure property staff have a complete understanding of product qualities and sufficient training before holding them accountable for results
Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments and upper management via email, Basecamp, meetings, etc.
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed guest and customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Qualifications:
3 years of production management experience.
Proven track record of production management best practices.
Computer proficient, proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and outlook.
Must possess excellent negotiation skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles.
Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Sound decision making; the calm in the storm.
