Job Title: Substation Construction Manager-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)

Job Description

The Substation Construction Manager will lead projects with a focus on safety, quality, and effective coordination among team members and stakeholders. The role requires a broad understanding of company policies and procedures, as well as the ability to manage construction activities efficiently.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.

Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed effectively.

Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audit construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.

Maintain open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project.

Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.

Lead and manage construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.

Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track.

Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.

Perform material procurement and material take-offs post-project and report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.

Support commissioning efforts through energization.

Essential Skills

Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.

Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards.

Familiarity with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits.

Ability to work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels.

Proficient computer skills, including a strong grasp of general software like MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials in hazardous environments and across uneven ground.

Experience in leading and managing construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Promote open communication with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues.

Work Environment

The work environment is site-based, specifically located in McCarney, Texas for the first project. This role involves working in potentially hazardous environments where safety is a priority. The position demands physical activity, including lifting and carrying tools and materials across uneven ground.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00/hr.
