Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the INSIDE MACHINE SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will train subordinates in work methods, procedures, safe work practices, operation of new equipment, and other regulations and policies. You will inspect work-in-progress and upon completion to ensure efficiency, economy, and safety of operations. You will assign appropriate personnel and equipment to projects related to training mechanics. You will provide performance evaluation and feedback to work leaders and journeymen. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: Ability to perform oversight, coaching and mentoring of Mechanical, Electrician, and Electronic Industrial Controls mechanics during the performance of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and other @types of work orders. Using the Electronic Facilities and Equipment Maintenance application (eFEM) for the execution of maintenance work orders in a real world or training environment. Understanding the trade of a fully qualified Electronics Industrial Controls Mechanic (EICM). Resolving working problems and taking necessary corrective action to overcome such delays as bottlenecks, equipment breakdown and material shortages in a trades training program.
