Job Description
Insight Global is assisting a large engineering client of ours in identifying a temporary Operations Manager for a 7 month long contract they have open. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day site operations and driving operational performance to ensure projects and customer deliveries are achieved on time, to specification, and in a cost-effective manner. This role includes 25% travel to their Raymond, Maine and Mississauga, Canada locations.
Co-ordinate and lead weekly management meetings
Act as main point of contact and coordinator for Company visitors to site
Provide monthly report to Radiodetection leadership team highlighting progress against initiatives, employee feedback and operations
Set and communicate standards of performance and appraise employee performance
Monitor actual production versus forecast, review all production reports, material and labor variances and take appropriate action to achieve budget and standard
Plan, schedule and coordinate resource requirements and work assignments for production employees and provide direction on the timing on all projects
Work closely with purchasing to mitigate potential shortfalls in current/future material requirements that may impede smooth workflow
Work closely with Subcontract Manufacturers (SCMs) to drive cost down and improvement activities- Manage projects, project teams and contracted services within approved budgets, plans and performance criteria
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and take proactive measures to address

Skills and Requirements
-8+ years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing operations manager role
Project management experience ensuring that targets and KPI's are met on a monthly basis
Effective leadership skills
A valid passport for some occasional international travel - Experience with IFS ERP system or similar ERP/SAP systems
Experience in supply chain and logistics
Project Manager Certifications
Six Sigma or Lean certifications
