Job Title: Construction Helper Job Description

Join a specialized contractor team that services aerospace and manufacturing companies throughout Connecticut by installing essential safety systems. As a Construction Helper, you will work alongside a seasoned mechanic to assist in the installation of dust and mist collection systems, machine platforms, and guarding systems for older machinery. Ensure safety and efficiency in these environments by aiding with the movement of materials and using tools under expert guidance.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation of dust and mist collection systems, machine platforms, and guarding systems.

Move materials and utilize hand and power tools such as drills and sawzalls under the direction of an experienced installer.

Ensure the safety and functionality of systems to protect machine operators from hazardous materials.

Essential Skills

Experience with hand and power tools in a construction setting.

Previous experience in a construction trade.

OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain one.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Motivation and ambition to learn and grow within the company.

Experience in piping systems, sheet metal, or fabrication is ideal but not necessary.

Work Environment

Work Monday to Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, with minimal overtime. Depending on the job site location, travel directly to the site or carpool from the Cromwell shop. Most sites are in Connecticut, with occasional work in Western Massachusetts. Dress code includes work pants, a shirt, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses. Jobs typically last 1-3 days, and you may work with different team members each day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CROMWELL, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
