CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Process Modeling Engineer.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Process Modeling Engineer

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline

Travel: Up to 10%

Overview:

Join a leading team focused on modeling processes and process conditions to improve glass and ceramic substrate/filter performance or reduce costs. Use FEA/BEM modeling, thin film mechanics, and analytical tools to solve complex product and process challenges while collaborating with global researchers, engineers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Model new processes and conditions for product improvement and cost reduction

Apply FEA/BEM and thin film modeling for product development, design improvements, and failure analysis

Develop or utilize analytical tools to understand process fundamentals

Lead product testing and evaluate performance against commercial and engineering requirements

Mentor team members and recommend new methods in mechanical testing

Communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and publications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

M.S. in Mechanical/Civil Engineering with 4+ years experience OR Ph.D. with 0+ years

Experience with open-source and commercial FEA software (Abaqus, Ansys)

Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, loading conditions, strains, and thin film interface adhesion

Analytical and programming skills for model development, experimentation, and solution recommendation

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Desired Skills:

Experience in structural thin film mechanics, material modeling, and characterization

Background in process/product engineering and materials testing

Ability to lead experiments, analyze data, and make technical recommendations

Soft Skills:

Proven ability to work across cultures on globally dispersed teams

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-project management capabilities

Additional Information:
