The Business Operations/Geospatial Data Analyst, Advisor, will provide support to our Mapping GIS team at Southern California Edison, one of the largest investor-owned electric utilities in the United States. This position belongs to the Geospatial Data Maintenance group within Transmission & Distribution. The Geospatial Data Maintenance organization is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and consistency of SCE's Electric Asset Records, encompassing both overhead and underground facilities, in SCE's comprehensive Geographic Information System (cGIS) as well as Distribution Circuit Mapping.
As a Business Operations/Geospatial Data Analyst, Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to business challenges, conducting thorough data analyses, and supporting the development and implementation of strategies to address process and technology-related data gaps. Your role will also involve coordinating cross-functional activities, formulating recommendations, and enhancing the management and utilization of geospatial data across the organization. This position requires effective workload management, fostering trust, prioritizing safety, and demonstrating integrity in all professional interactions.
Responsibilities
Gathers relevant data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, or data warehouses and ensures data integrity by cleaning and preprocessing it to remove errors, inconsistencies, or missing values that could a?ect the accuracy of the analysis.
Uses statistical and analytical techniques to explore and examine cleaned data; apply methods like descriptive statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, relationships, and trends within the data.
Transforms data into visual representations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards; visualizations should present insights and ?ndings clearly and concisely, enabling stakeholders to understand the information easily and make data-driven decisions.
Creates reports and summaries that e?ectively communicate analysis and ?ndings to non-technical audiences; reports should include key metrics, data visualizations, and actionable recommendations to help stakeholders understand data implications and make informed decisions.
Continually monitors data quality, track performance metrics, and analyzes new data to ensure the relevance and accuracy of insights and assists in evaluating and improving data analytics methodologies and processes for enhanced e?ciency and e?ectiveness.
Works with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders from di?erent departments, to de?ne analytic objectives, align data analysis with business needs and communicate insights e?ectively.
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, ?nancial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, con?dential medical records, and other @types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in data analysis.
Experience using a variety of data tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of experience mapping out processes and workflows, documentation and making recommendations.
Familiar or experience working with two or more of the following products (Autodesk, ESRI, GE Smallworld, SAP, Automated Utility Design (AUD), Design Manager (DM), Microsoft Power BI).
Experience with performance metrics / key performance indicators (creation and monitoring).
Three or more years of experience in project management, including planning, organizing, and overseeing project deliverables from initiation to completion.
Bachelor's degree
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule multiple tasks with minimal supervision and adjust to changing priorities.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.? Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.? Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
